Marrakech to get its own women's club
( 1 Articles )
The board members of AIWC/Casablanca have started going to Marrakech every month to assist with the formation of a new American Womens Club. Many of the women teach at the American School of Marrakech so the meetings are being held on a Sat morning. We already have committees to work on required statues and legal paperwork so the club can register with the local government. There is a committee for communications that is working on an info booklet for newcomers and a Facebook page to assist with newcomers finding the group; they will also have a section on the AIWC web page as well. There is also a committee for charity and development projects and the teachers were interesting in trying to find projects that the children at the school could become involved in.
I would like to thank Mallin Haaday and Judy Flaherty for coordinating these efforts and providing breakfast at both meetings!!
Our goal is to have the club registered as an independent club by the Fawco 2011 Conference in Marrakech and to join FAWCO as well.
